Lovely Day

Tell me if you' ve had this for breakfast

It's glutinous rice with jack fruit and mung beans porridge.

We went to this restaurant for breakfast and saw so many people went to this table. I was curious and went to see. Still couldn't figure it out so asked the man at the counter.

He said something abt it being a Kelantan delicacy. There were many pots on the table containing coconut milk, different types of sweet porridge, brown sugar syrup etc.

Asked him how to eat it since I wanted to try but he was quite lost on his explanation. Haish how to promote to foreigners? And at that time I was a foreigner as this food was totally foreign to me hehhe

Okla the taste. Sweet. Only I wonder why exactly they have it in the morning.

Overall, it was a productive and fruitful trip. Met friends and bought some stuff. Yep, bonus was not even in at that time but I already spent it hahha Well, what else is new?

Got these for myself so I'm quite happy.

shoes

pants

Although I will be happier if I can get more hehehe So many wants rather than needs, I know I know

I need to put myself into the shoes of people who have do not even have enough. It's quite difficult actually. It's easier said than done aye?

Oh, Legend Hotel or now its new name is Sunway Putra has this gorgeous ginger bread house

I Wanna Go

You know, I had failed so many times in gracing the wedding invitations from fellow Saijorians. Most of times, the timing was off. It was either I was on duty or had some going on in school. I felt horrible so this time I made sure that I would manage to fulfil this one invitation.

It was made easier since we were already in keyell so that morning, we went off to Sidek's wedding. We left early for fear that we would not be able to find the venue and we arrived wayyyyyy too early hahha Only workers were there :)

We arrived at the venue abt 11 sthg and the workers were still putting on tablecloths. Julie went to ask when exactly the event would start and the man asked said abt 12. Hmm but shouldn't the tables be covered by 11 sthg?

Anyway, since we had time to kill we went off wandering around. And bought a card. Decided not to buy a present. Just gave cash instead. I hate it if my presents ended up given to others since the newlyweds have tons of the same thing. Do they need another set of toaster when they already have 3?

I think the westerners have this one right. Register the presents that they want and the guests will choose which one that they want to buy for the newlyweds. So no duplicates and no unwanted things. Hint Hint *wink

Then headed back to the hall. Although there were already guests we suspected that we were among the family as most of them were wearing the same theme.

Loved the theme. Loved the decoration. Loved the food.

While eating my eyes were wandering to see any familiar faces but none. We wanted to wait until the bride and the groom arrived and made our presence felt so I think we were among the ones who were there the longest. And that included the groom's relatives hahha

And Julie being Julie harassed Sidek's brother for that piece of candy. The candies were only for kids but since Julie has a child in her, she wanted one. Kesian the kid that he had to relent in the end hahha The power of persuasion, I guess

Finally I saw one familiar face. You know, the moment I saw him I thought he was Zul. But noooo. Actually it was Ruby's hubby hahah Tu yg familiar tu since I've seen his photos so many times on fb. Come to think of it, I wonder where Zul is now? Hmm

Waited for Ruby to finish eating then went to the bride and groom's table to take pix.

And one of the SPISE girls of 3 batches. And what more special is that all of us are Otago alumni :)

Because I Miss You

It's quite sad that this year I didn't manage to see a lot of Julie. Hence the reason why we set a date to see each other last weekend.

She was supposed to arrive around 11 pm but since it was AA what would you excpect? Flight delay and all which resulted her not being able to go to the hotel at the promised time. Yes, it was like Beijing all over again when I arrived one day earlier than her.

The hotel room was fantastic. No idea why the receptionist upgraded my room so in the end I got a 2-room apartment. Which is quite ridiculous since there would only be the 2 of us there.

from the entrance

the view from the balcony

I thought ok it would be quite scary staying in a big room but then my house is bigger and I stay there alone fine so there. *Konon trying to give a pep talk to myself heheh

Early in the morning, Julie arrived and off we went to Sogo. We promised to meet Amalina n Syana there. Used lrt for the ride.

Don't like the idea that they are using this for the token. Come on, this is easier to lose I think. Why made a backward decision?

Anyway, since we arrived early we had a go first with the karaoke room.

Screen touch la konon. But it was a hassle since you need to move to the front to key in the songs of your choice. Leceh.

Then the girls came. Honestly, it was like it was our first time singing together. Malu-malu la konon hahh But of coz it got better.

But I don't like the service. The workers kept interrupting us and when they came into our room, straight away switched on the lights. What kind of manners are these?

Sibuk je asked us to order whatever not. We knew that we had to order but since the other two had not arrived we decided not to order first. But noooo kept on barging in into the room. Bongok betul.

And then there was a sudden screen off and a worker came in to say the time was up. I mean, couldn't you say it nicely?

Back in the other country where karaoke is quite famous, 10 minutes before time, they would call us to remind us that the time was nearly finishing. And they asked whether we wanted to continue. Ini tak.

So many things you have to learn ok. Jangan nak berlagak ini dah cukup bagus. Yang terbaik konon. Shit. I've experienced much better.

However, I took comfort that I managed to see people that I miss. People that I should see more frequently. One of the things that I will try to improve next year is the frequency of this kind of meetings :)

Suddenly

Woke up that morning and had this sudden urge to eat at KP Corner and off I went. I know. Crazy isn't it but hey what the stomach wants, the stomach gets hahha

It was good that I texted Pn T first if not I wouldn't know that it has moved to a temporary site since the old place is being renovated. Arrived just in time for lunch. Didn't have my breakfast pun in the first place so brunch it was.

Took my favourites- nasi putih, ayam goreng and that nenas tu. Apa eh nama dia? hahha Makan je tau but x know the name. Didn't take that kacang + hati - that is my favourite as well but that day takde mood to eat that hahha
Sorry no pictures since I parked my car across the road so was so lazy to carry my camera. It was a blissful brunch I tell you. Miss the food so much. Thank god that it's relatively near. Not like I have to take a plane to get to it. The only thing to find is time.

While eating, listened in to people's conversations about the jam in Pilah that day. It's quite common to have jams in that town but on a Monday? Everyone was guessing the cause of the jam. Puan T couldn't even come out of the school to meet up with me for fear that she wouldn't be able to get back to school in time.

Nonie who was in Gentam took about one hour or so I think to get to the eating place. Gilos.

After eating, I went to see Pn T at school. Since there was jam so mite as well went about to see some friends hahha I made the right decision to pray first before heading home. The road was still congested.

this was halfway to sbn already

So while stuck in the jam, I got time to look around and I saw so many rambutan trees weiiii They were laden with unpicked fruits. Aisey why la. Should have shouted and asked for some but malu la of coz hahha

And even had this encounter with a smsra car hahha Don't know who that was but a boy la. I think lower form kot tu. Well, too dark to determine but I did smile at the parents since they were busy looking at me ;)

KYati who had a meeting in Pilah informed me that the jam could be because of this one car that got into a fishing pond. So I was ready with my camera to capture that moment. But when the moment came, I just managed to get this shot.

Macam malu la nak amik hahha Gilos Adoii how la to write blogs like this kan? hahha But at least I got one shot eh?

After this area, the traffic was smooth ok? Haish it took me 1 1/2 hours just to arrive home. By the time I arrived home, lapar already. Aisey why la x tapau tadi? Bongoks

So does this mean there will be another trip? Oh I like :P

Walk It, Talk It

Yus sent this in my email and I thought of sharing it with you.

True isn't it? Although it's not easy to give the most appropriate reaction to a certain circumstance but if we want a different outcome we just have to try. It comes with practice, I think.

Hmm I hope I can better my reactions when I face dire situations after this. Chaiyokk

p/s: Listed travel destinations for next year already yehaa Now all I need is moolah ;)

You've Fallen For Me

You know mind is such a tricky thing. You have a lot of work to do but yet your mind keeps wandering to other things. And wandered I did.

Been occupying myself with Kseries. And you know once you start on one episode, you'll be wanting to watch the next. And the next. And the next. Until you get to the last episode. Especially when you know that all the episodes are there in the hard disk.

On average, one series will have 16 episodes which means 16 hours. And you want to finish all as quick as possible so you stay up until Subuh to do accomplish that. In addition to that, you are marking papers. So you need to balance things up. And let me tell you that, balancing act is never easy between these two.

The result? I now spotted with panda eyes. I think pandas have better eyes kot. My eyes are strained too hahah

Oh well, it's worth the pain I guess. And now my regular series are back from their break so there! More things to juggle hahha

p/s: I think my playlist now is heavily influenced by the series that I watched :)

Rain Over Me

I think this year is the year of which I bought so many inspirational or motivational books. I just have to since this year  so many things happened which caused me to lose my motivation. I got demotivated so many times and I just needed to be reminded of who I am and what I'm capable of.

Of all the books, I like Jack's the best ;)

Some people can just be so poisonous that it affects other people in the surrounding. Yeah I sometimes sound very pessimistic but I like happy endings. Thus the reason why I stick to certain genres, be it for movies or storybooks :)

And also this is the year of which I bought so many books but not all of them have been read yet. Even this one novel by my favourite author. The book is still in its plastic wrapper. Imagine that!

This evening, when I was checking out my car boot looking for any shoes to be thrown out, I saw this one plastic bag with 3 books in it hahah Crazy betul. No idea when exactly I will be reading the books but I intend to finish at least one before the new semester starts.

This trend cannot continue next year. Must find some time to unwind and relax more I think. I think I want to be GM next year.

What is GM, you wonder?

GURU MALAS hahaha

Goodbye

And so I have this sudden mood to do some cleaning up. I started at 2 am, can you believe it? hahha I think it was a ploy of my subconscious mind not to mark anymore papers :)

Anyway, I found out that I had so many things to throw! Ended up with more than the 3 boxes as pictured in the pix below.

You know, after I had sent out these boxes to the garbage bin, I went to see my chief to get my coordinated sripts and when I came back, these boxes were gone! I can try to understand about the boxes as I think some of the contents could be recycled but the bag? It has lost its wheels and can't even sit straight anymore.

Well, as they say one person's thrash could be another's treasure eh?

I think there's a reason why I have my own career. So I can hide behind the excuse that I'm so busy that I can't manage the house hahha I have respects for the housewives. Such difficult job that they have.  I think I'm in need of a good massage :p

Now the house is in order. The next task is to make sure my new place in the staffroom is in good order too!
